Hi Kaibalya Mohanty,

You started Winning 'District Level Awards' in Singing Competitions, when you were in School in Keonjhar in Odisha. 

You have performed in more then Hundred Plays, all across the Country .You have performed  in Kolkata, at Tata Centre, NCPA, Mumbai and in countless other venues.

In 2014, you produced a Hindi Short film named 'Paperchor' and the film was screened at many Film Festivals in India. 

In early 2015, you shifted to Mumbai and kept working in English Theatre and assisted  a lot of Music Directers of Bollywood. 

During Demonetisation, you acted in a Hindi Music Video named 'Gulabi 2000' which went viral too, during that period.You have been producing a lot of Ads and Commercials from Mumbai and Kolkata, the latest being the Most Popular, Rath Yatra Ad for Fortune Brand.

You have produced a lot of Music Videos and Short Films for the State Government and been Awarded by them for Producing an International Standard Music Video, for the first time in Odisha.You have sung many Jingles, for a lot of Commercials in the last 6 months for Music Directors of South and Mumbai and you have been getting appreciation from the likes of Popular Trade Analysts like Komal Nahta.

Congrats on your first Odia Music Video that released on the 6th of September.

Leslie1-How would you describe yourself in 3 words

Kaibalya: Creative

 Innovative 

 Visionary

Leslie2- Where are you from , which 3 cities/countries you love to travel to and why.

Kaibalya: I am basically from Jajpur City, The Ancient Capital of Kalinga.

For a fulfilling break, I have  to visit my hometown in Jajpur City. The second priority is Kolkata.We also have a house there in Kolkata. I can get my creative inspiration from these two places. 

However, I would love to travel to Phuket again(where I had visited last year ) and Sydney(which is there in my bucketlist)

Leslie 3-How would you describe your Life-journey so far. Did you ever feel like an outsider? 

Kaibalya: Life is a journey, not a destination. I have learnt to enjoy the ride.

Yes, but being an outsider,  has been a boon for me.

As an outsider, you’re a good observant. You’re not brainwashed to think and act like the masses. You think for yourself. You see and do things differently. Something that offers you a great awareness and the ability to see the big picture and not get lost in the details of everyday life.

Leslie 4- What are your favourite songs? 

Kaibalya: Well,they change all the time.

Currently, I am hooked on to 'Akhiyaan Milavanga' Composed by Mannan Shaah & Koi Fariyaad, by Nikhil, Vinay. 

I feel blessed to be able to talk to them & tell them, how much I admire their incredible work

I am also listening to Odisha's Music legend Prem Anand Sir's Soulful Songs.

Leslie5-What's the first thing you do when you wake up? 

Kaibalya: Today when I woke up, I felt so grateful to God that I woke up, because I know that, a million others couldn't wake up. 

I want to experience this life as profoundly as possible.

Leslie6-You are a success story , what's a normal day schedule like in your life...(the way it was before lockdown and currently during lockdown)

Kaibalya: Leslie,thanks for the complement. I only try to better myself each day. Better my skills & better myself as a human being.

Thats all I focus at. Nothing else.

Before lockdown I was doing more outdoor work, now am doing more indoors. 

Life hasn't changed much. I am enjoying this phase as well.

Leslie7-What are your fav childhood memories? 

Kaibalya: I can remember,once me and my family(My Father, Mother & Younger Sister) had paid a visit to Puri-Konark for a few days and I was blown away 

after experiencing and enjoying the rich cultural heritage, temple architecture,  famous temples, sea beaches, and natural wonders. 

Leslie8-What comes to your mind when I say the word "Family"? 

Kaibalya: Family is not an important thing. It’s 'Everything' . 

Leslie9-What's the best compliment you have ever received? 

Kaibalya: The best complement was from my Father, when he had seen me sing on stage, when I was 18. 

And he had told me, 

'I think you sing really well'

Leslie10-Which is the most memorable day of your life? 

Kaibalya: The day my sister was born.

Leslie11-What's your fav quote? 

Kaibalya: The Best thing in life is Life itself.

Leslie12-What's your fav food/drink? 

Kaibalya: Food- Homecooked Paneer Butter Masala. 

Drink- Strong Tea. 

Leslie13-Who or what inspires you to keep progressing and succeeding in life? 

Kaibalya: 3 C's in my life: Choices, Chances and Changes. 

I make Choices,  in order to take Chances and watch how my life Changes.

Leslie14-How do you handle moments of defeat, failure, rejection? 

Kaibalya: Defeat, failure or rejection are not in my control.

Its not worth,  thinking about anything that's not in my control. 

What is in my control,  is today and now and I believe in focussing only on the 'Now'. 

Leslie15-What makes you the happiest? 

Kaibalya: Helping People in my own Capacity.

Kaibalya: I don't read books. 

Everything I read, is from the internet. 

However, I filter and read only positive items.

Leslie18-When's your bday,  what's a normal Birthday like every year? 

Kaibalya: 22nd June. 

I like the idea of spending quality time with my family  and that's what I do on my Birthdays. 

Leslie19-Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 

Kaibalya: I want to reach such a position in life,whereby I can inspire people in every way possible
