Hi Yuvraj Human ,welcome to "My Legacy with Leslie"
Here are few quick questions for you.
L- Yuvraj you have written a powerful book titled "A Walk", an amazingly inspiring journey... what inspired you to write it?
Y- Only a person who has gone through trials and tribulations in his or her life and has overcome it is a beacon of hope to others.
I myself having gone through a painful childhood felt that a story of mine along with different views and perspective would help people in that age group to feel hopeful about their current challenges. That's what one's life should be for. Hence , I decided to write this book after my MBA got over.
L-What were the defining moments n advise that helped you achieve your goals?
Y- So there were mainly two defining moments that helped me achieve my goals:
1) In class 12, when everyone wanted to get into the best college in commerce in India after Shri Ram College of Commerce, i.e. St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, I found myself in a position where I felt that I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. So I started working tirelessly towards getting into the college for which I made sure that one of my weakest subjects would be my strongest. I only worked hard, day in and day out, I practiced each sum of accounts like anything. It was madness at its best. In the end, I scored 98 in Accounts by far my best score in my academic life and also went on to do my graduation from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata.
2) Everybody said to me that I was horrible with my way of answering questions during my MBA course so I had less confidence in pursuing my idea of writing a book, for which I only answered one question for myself and that was " Why do you want to write a Book, Yuvraj ? " Once I had my answer, there was only discipline that I exercised and made sure that this book would become a reality and make a difference in people's lives.
L- The title of your book is intriguing, what were the thoughts then bugging you before you hit the nail with the title?
Y- I titled it , ' A WALK - Tread On Champ ' because until and unless you walk the walk of life, you won't know of what you are truly capable of or your true potential is.
In a nutshell, it's the journey that is important and not the destination.
L- You have been helping a lot of people by giving professional motivational talk. How have you been changing lives?
Y- One on one interaction, being friends with them, listening to their issues and most importantly getting into their shoes and understanding the deep rooted cause of the problem. No temporary solutions, permanent solutions is what I have always been giving to them.
L- What do you think are the problems, plaguing the youth today?
Y- There are less listeners today than ever. This is hurting them badly. Our ignorance towards their problems and issues are shaping them up as cynical people who start believing that this world is a cruel place and there is nothing called goodness or positivity. As a result, they get into all kinds of habits which are not good for them or the society. This cycle is leading to increase in mental disorders, depression and even crimes. One will have to go out there and hear them out.
L- What causes are you passionate about ?
Y- I am passionate about meeting and connection with more youth. Empowering them through words and constant encouragement is something that keeps me driven. I mean, I get my pump from them.
L- Who are your inspiration?
Y- I am inspired by the members of Soka Gakkai which has been addressing issues related to the dignity of human lives based on a philosophy called the Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism.
L-Do you have any icons that you look up to?
Y- My icon is my mentor for eternity, Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, President of Soka Gakkai International
L-List your 5 fav movies of all time.
Y-1) Pursuit of Happyness
2) Karate Kid
3) Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
4) The Notebook
& 5) Peaceful Warrior.
L-Your fav books
Y-My favourite book is a series of books written by my mentor, titled, New Human Revolution.
I also loved reading The Power of Being Broke by Daymond John.
L-Whats your motto in general?
Y-I was born to motivate people and be the most compassionate individual ever.
L- How do you prioritise your day with so much work and duties going in your life?
Y- At the core I know that motivating the youth is my ultimate goal in life. I keep telling myself that this is what I was born for. I know that daily routine does take a toll on me but I still try doing my best in the smallest of ways. While travelling or commuting from one place to another, I try to learn from them and see if they need my help. If they do, I do my best in a way that's in accord with their challenges.
L- What is your message to youth today?
Y- You are Unique. Don't let the storms in your life drown your dreams and aspirations. Hold on to it as strongly as possible, please do so because only then will this world witness the true greatness of one of the finest individuals ever.
L- Where do you see yourself 5 years from now
Y- Motivating the youth in Schools and Colleges but may be in a much more better way.
L- What is your legacy according to you?
Y- My Legacy is to make people feel wanted, I still do this in my own way. Only this will help make our world a better place.
L-Words for me
Y- I don't know much about you but I have come to know about some of the work that you're doing towards providing voices to the unheard through your women empowerment initiatives and much more.
